If you would like to learn more about the use of statistics in business, you can sign up for my Mgmt 490R Individual Research class. In this class you can choose your own topic to investigate. You can expect to learn how to search literature, program in a statistical software R, use advanced statistical methods, and write a research paper. This is an extension of my Business Research Methods (Mgmt 231) class. The ultimate goal of this course is to produce a publishable paper. Please, see me for more information.
My past students worked on:
  • Spring 2012: Prices of ski lift tickets.
  • Fall 2011: Factors affecting retention rates in US universities.
    Usually, students who take Mgmt 490R apply for the  Undergraduate Scholars Program at MSU.
