This page contains answers to common questions handled by our support staff, along with some tips and tricks that we have found useful and presented here as questions.

Note: In these answers we will follow a few shorthand conventions for describing user-interface procedures. Key combinations will be presented like this: Ctrl+Alt+Delete, which means that you should press and hold down the Control key, the Alt key, and the Delete key at the same time. Menu selections will be presented like this: File->Open, which means that you should open the File menu, and then make the Open selection.

How do I contact the ITC Help Desk?

You can reach the Help Desk by calling them at 406-994-1777 or contacting them by mail at opermail@montana.edu. You can also follow your Help Desk requests buy going to the Remedy Web Site and use your first initial and last name for both username and password when prompted.

You can drop by the Renne Library basement room 70 through the big double doors at the end of the hall.

Why doesn't anybody answer the phone at 2 O' Clock on Sunday morning?

The Help Desk hours are Monday through Thursday from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM and Friday from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. There is somebody on call 24 hours a day for emergencies.

Who is manning the phones?

Operations personnel consisting of Terry Koral, Mike Mosby, Gary Parker and Sam Taylor. Their manager is Diane Wyn. They will try to answer your questions on the phone. If you need further assistance they will log your call in the Remedy Help Desk and assign it to the appropriate group or individual.
