ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE

ITC recommends all computers on campus have the latest anti-virus software installed.  After evaluating a variety of Anti-virus software packages,  McAfee was chosen to be the best solution for the campuses of  MSU, based on performance and price.  As of 7/1/05 McAfee  antivirus software is centrally funded by MSU - Bozeman for all MSU - Bozeman owned computers.  The ITC  McAfee instructional page  explains the steps for downloading, configuring, and automatically keeping your McAfee software up to date.

For Macintosh computers, ITC recommends Virex anti-virus software, also centrally funded as of 7/1/05, for all MSU - Bozeman owned Macintosh Computers.
