Methods of updating McAfee to the latest DAT version.

Enable the automatic update scheduler.

Go to this link if you are running Windows 95/98, Windows ME, NT 4.0 Workstation, or Windows 2000 Professional; or this link for Windows NT 4.0 Server or Windows 2000 Server running NetShield. Click on VirusScan 8.0 scheduled updates for Windows 2000 or XP.

Map to the Topaz share and run  sdat????.exe

Connect to \\topaz\mcafee\datfiles\4.x and double click or download and run the sdat????.exe file. Or connect to \\software\mcafee and double click or download and run the sdat????.exe file.

Browse to the NAI site and download sdat????.exe

Browse to the ftp://ftp.nai.com/pub/antivirus/datfiles/4.x and download the latest file and run it.

Update VirusScan 4.5 to the latest  4.51 version for Windows 9X

Connect to \\topaz\mcafee\vscan451\setup.exe for VirusScan 4.51.

Update VirusScan 4.5.1 to Service Pack 1

Connect to \\topaz\mcafee\VScan451SP1\VSC451S1.EXE for VirusScan 4.51.

Update to Service Pack 1 for NetShield 4.5 for NT 4.0

Connect to \\topaz\mcafee\NetShld45SP1\nntsp1.exe for NetShield 4.5.

Update to VirusScan 8.0i for Windows 2000 and Windows XP.

Connect to \\software\msuapps\mcafee\VirusScan8.0i\setup.exe for VirusScan 8.0i.

Patch VirusScan 8.0i to Patch 11

Connect to \\software\msuapps\mcafee\VirusScan8.0i\Patches\VSE80P11\Setup.exe  for Patch 11.
