This section of the MSU Emergency Response Manual identifies the on and off campus resources available to provide assistance to the Emergency Response Team in dealing with Campus emergencies. Although a wide range of services and assistance resources have been identified, the listing should not be considered all inclusive. Emergencies and disasters can affect the University in numerous ways and resources may not always be available from traditional sources. In the event of a Major Emergency or Disaster on campus, flexibility to seek resources utilizing extraordinary measures may be pursued by the Emergency Response Team and/or other MSU Administrative personnel.

401.00 On Campus Assistance

 (trouble/service after 5:00 p.m. call University Police at 994-2121.)

a.Skilled workers are available from Facilities Service all times during normal working hours and on short notice at other times. They are capable of providing the following emergency services:
 
i.Utilities: Repairs to water, gas, electric and sewage systems.
ii.Structures: Repairs to structures and mechanical equipment therein, including heating and cooling systems.
iii.Equipment: Portable pumps, generators, floodlights, welders, air compressors, tractors, backhoes, fork lifts, etc.
iv.Transportation: Sedans, light trucks, dump trucks and loaders.

 Emergency procurement of materials to support of any emergency response.

MSU Purchasing Department can assist with the emergency procurement of materials and services in direct support with any contingency.
D.Hazardous Materials Mgmt:SRM Bldg, Adv Tech Park3572
MSU Hazardous Material Management provides for coordination and management of chemical spills/leaks, clean-up and shipping of all hazardous chemicals or controlled wastes.

MSU Radiation Safety Management can provide radiation leakage detection, clean-up and disposal services.
F.Residence Life & Univ Food Svcs:Hedges Complex Rm 312661
MSU Residence Life and University Food Services can provide such items as temporary housing, bedding, sanitary facilities and food services to support a wide range of emergency situations.
G.MSU Fieldhouse Facilities:Fieldhouse Rm 2037117
The MSU Fieldhouse and other facilities may be utilized as temporary housing, dining, or storage facilities in response to emergencies.

Sections 410.10 through 410.40 list all available telephone numbers for Emergency Response Team personnel. To ensure the privacy of MSU personnel, these sections will not appear in the MSU Emergency Response Manual for public or campus wide distribution. These sections will be included in the MSU Emergency Response Manual master copy and in the copies housed in the following MSU offices/locations:

  4. Field Emergency Command Post
  5. Safety and Risk Management Office
