510.00 Political Campaigning Allowed
This policy governs all political campaign activities, including ASMSU campaigns, unless otherwise noted, conducted on University property. Political campaigning may be conducted on University property subject to the following requirements:
- Campaign activities may be conducted in the following areas:
- The Centennial Mall
- Areas adjacent to the Bobcat Stadium as noted on the Map. No campaign activities are allowed within the fenced enclosure.
- The cement areas adjacent to the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse, at least 40 feet west of base of stairs on North and South entrances. See Map.
- No campaign activities are allowed within the Fieldhouse, except at sponsored events, such as public debates or rental of the facility by unaffiliated groups for candidate events.
- In Residence Halls, campaign activities may be conducted only in the designated public areas on the first floor of each facility. These areas can be reserved by contacting the Residence Life Office.
- In Family & Graduate Housing campaign activities may be conducted door-to-door.
- Within all other University facilities, no campaign activities are allowed, except by written invitation of an official University organization in conjunction with a specific event and with the advance approval of Conference Services.
520.00 Printed Campaign Material
The distribution
and posting of printed campaign materials are subject to the provisions of Section 300.00 .
530.00 Restrictions
- Political
campaigning may be conducted in those areas specified above subject to the Use
Regulations and Limitations set forth in Section 200.00 .
- If a political
campaign activity is disrupting any University program or other official
activity, the campaigner(s) shall be asked to cease activities and/or leave the
premises.
