Departments are authorized to process DPO's for equipment maintenance if the
total contract value is $25,000 or less.
1. Total contract value $5,000 or less:
Departments have the option of using a Departmental Purchase Order, Contracted
Services Agreement, or a Maintenance Agreement provided by the maintenance
supplier. MSU Legal Counsel must approve the terms and conditions of any
maintenance agreements provided by the supplier, prior to award.
2. Total contract value exceeding $5,000 up to and including $25,000:
Departments are required to use the Contracted Services Agreement form or the
Maintenance Agreement form provided by the maintenance supplier. Use of the
Departmental Purchase Order form is another option. MSU Legal Counsel must
approve the terms and conditions of any maintenance agreements provided by the
supplier, prior to award. Departments must comply with purchasing procedures
defined in Section 600 of this manual.
3. If the total contract value of the Equipment Maintenance Agreement exceeds
$25,000 (based on total contract duration), the Department must submit a
Purchase Requisition to the MSU-PD.
