1700.00 Capital Items Defined
Capital items include multi-user computer software with a unit cost of $5,000 or
more and certain types of books. Capital equipment is defined as equipment that
retains its identity, has an expected useful life of more than one year and has
a unit cost of $5,000 or more.
1. Such items may be procured directly if the total contract value does not
exceed $25,000. (Exception: Controlled Items.)

accessories, trade-ins contemplated and surplus property transactions.
